Why a Hard-Floor CamperA question often asked is "What is the benefit of a hard-floor camper versus a soft floor camper?" There are quite a few differences between hard and soft floor campers that we believe make owning a hardfloor camper a more enjoyable experience. The following image is provided to demonstrate how simple it really is to open and close a hardfloor camper. In this example, the Far and Wide 2006 Model Camper is shown being closed. The user generally completes this operation in under 5 minutes. Opening and setting up the camper is even faster. We have Far and Wide camper owners open and set up their campers in UNDER 2 MINUTES!! Try doing that with a soft floor camper. A few of the many other benefits of a hard floor over a soft floor are briefly outlined below the image.
- Superior dust and water proofing whilst travelling and in storage.
- Security - all doors and access points are lockable when unit is closed.
- The hard floor means that tears and punctures to the tent floor are not possible, as there is no tent floor.
- The hard floor elevation when the camper is open allows water/moisture to run under the camper and not into the tent.
- Users will not suffer injury as a result of stepping into a hollow through the tent floor as does occur with tent type floors.
- Additional strength - when the floor is in a closed position and locked down, it essentially becomes part of the camper frame.
- Ease of cleaning - a quick sweep or even a mop, and you're done.
- Additional storage space for lightweight gear on camper roof rack
